SandTech Selected as an 8(a) STARS III GWAC Awardee
SandTech is thrilled to announce it was one of 426 small businesses identified by GSA as an awardee on the 8(a) Streamlined Technology Application Resource for Services (STARS) III contract with authorization to proceed as of 2 July, 2021. STARS III is known throughout the Federal Government as an easy-to-use, streamlined procurement solution for DoD and Federal partners to obtain information technology (IT) services from well qualified small businesses like SandTech. GSA worked with the Small Business Administration to support the development of 8(a) firms and provide federal agencies with a way to obtain pre-priced and pre-competed IT services.
SandTech CEO and President, Jose Sandoval, characterized the award as a “win-win” for both Government partners and for SandTech. “This STARS III award is huge for a small business. We appreciate the opportunity to enable success for more Federal agencies at a fair and reasonable price.” SandTech Chief Operations Officer, Greg McCulley, said “We envision this award will introduce the high quality services that SandTech delivers to a much wider audience than a small company can meet on its own.” SandTech’s Chief Information Officer, Ron Comeau, said, “We’ve worked hard to make SandTech a professional and reliable organization. Awards like STARS III help to reassure us that the hard work is paying off.”
SandTech plans to take full advantage of this award by gaining valuable experience in navigating agency requirements. Ultimately, that experience will help SandTech graduate from the 8(a) Program and enable the company to compete on a larger scale. Ms. Sonia Montellano, SandTech Vice President for Business Operations, has her team primed to assist agencies who require SandTech’s services quickly on how to benefit the STARS III vehicle. As Mr. Sandoval said, the STARS III award is truly a win-win for both the Government and for SandTech.
